BUT:

Jack Shit is ALSO the name of the anti-hero in a lot of the BLOODRUNNERS
episodes in Bike magazine and now in JET METAL in various mags around the world.
In Bloodrunners, he started as Lom's rival but we got so much mail about him,
that his role started to grow, until he became the hero.
If you came here by searching for Jack Shit, you may also have read on t'internet
that I claimed to have coined this phrase. This is nonsense.

In the first sighting of his toothed helmet,
I called him 'Sinistra Dexter', (the Latin for left and right )
as he was going to be this split personality.

My editor Brecon Quaddy thought it was a bit highbrow for Bikers though
( which I found rather insulting )

He asked me to come up with something a little more up-front;
So I called him Jack Shit!

The mail poured in about this enigmatic Alien 
and many asked the same question:
'Who is Jack Shit?'
This became the slogan on our best-selling T-shirt...

I don't think I'd have sold many 'Who is Sinistra Dexter?' T-shirts;
Not quite so snappy, is it?

Jack Shit is famous in other ways too, and has been cited in many movies:
Bruce Willis took his name in vain in the boiler room in 'Die Hard';
Clint Eastwood says it through gritted teeth to a bunch of bikers in 'The Gauntlet'
Richard Gere did it in the garage at the end of 'Internal Affairs';
Is it Kevin Bacon in the subway in 'Flatliners'?
Gene Hackman in 'The Conversation' ?
Spot in 'One hundred and One Dal . . .' nah . . .
